Parts in songs that send shivers down your spine.

This entire track from Anticosmos. I heard this for the first time at 3 in the morning while zoned out, listening to the album with headphones. I was in that void between being awake and asleep and was hit with this.

Dissection - Where Dead Angels Lie

3:45 -----------------> 4:20

That fucking scream/shriek, breaking the calmness of the acoustic interlude literally sends shivers down my spine.

It's not too dissimilar from Peter Tagtren's high pitched scream at the beginning of Fractured Millenium, except that Jon's is much more epic.

Just listened to Storm of the Light's Bane and I totally agree.

The central part of "Freezing Moon" by Mayhem is one of my favourite riffs ever, but there are lots and lots of other riffs which send shivers down to my spine.

Bumping this to shamelessly promote my 9th edition of (IMO) "Greatest Moments in Metal", all of which send shivers down my spine

Let me know what you think, and PLEASE suggest song parts for future editions

2.20 shivers for the masses. First time i heard this song it went on repeat a few days.

For me the #1 song when it comes to this stuff is Megadeths "back in the day". The whole second part of the song creates this for me in a huge way. I just love every second of it and it always fills me with energy. Great stuff!

The closing harmonized guitar solo/line and the second chorus with the vocal harmony AND the organs, yessss. I am going to arrange a cover of this with some friends one day
