So my PC crashed nearly two weeks ago and I just got it back from the tech support at work. I'm not PC savvy AT ALL in terms of resolving issues, etc...I'm hoping one of you guys might be able to help.

They added another gig of ram to the machine which is noticeable...only when opening apps. Once in the app, no matter WHAT app (IE, Excel, Frontpage, Outlook...anything), the thing slows down immensely. Deleting an email takes seconds, scrolling in a worksheet is choppy at best, etc. Any ideas?

I'm running Windows XP Media Center 2005 with Office Professional 2003.

I'm going to look online, too, but several of you guys seem to be quite knowledgeable in this area. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'd run http://www.memtest86.com/ to check the ram, it runs before the OS runs so if it checks out clean, ram is not the problem.

I'd then have to actually see it to guess further honestly, I have a few hunches but I'd want a few things with me to check it. (which isn't going to happen)
