PCIe interface help.

Well I think i want to move away from firewire Interfaces and into something Pci instead. I have 1000.00 to spend at the moment and not sure what to get. I was looking at the HDSPe RayDAT as i have a Rosestta 800 for good converters. Then i could just run some cheap adat preamps for triggers and such.

I dont know much about Madi stuff, do you need a external Interface?

I guess any idea's or info would be great on going Pci.

The major benefit of MADI is it can run a LOT of channels over a long distance with minimal loss, it's usually used for broadcast applications. As for the RayDAT, it's RME...you know the Germans always make good stuff (Shamwow reference...sorry). Seriously though, RME has incredible quality.

With the Madi do you need a external interface for converters?

I thought i remember reading the SSL Alpha Link was Madi. Im thinking if thats the case then Madi stuff is a little out of my price range right now.

Try an RME 9632 or 9652. I scored a 9652 for $250 two weeks ago, took a lot of hunting.

I think i want more than 16 inputs. I max out 18 inputs on my digi002 with big drum kits a lot.

Umm, isn't it like 1200 brand new? edit: looked from sweetwater, looks like it's a bit more expensive in USA than in Europe.
