I just ordered the 6505 Mini Head and want to use it for direct recording. It should be possible to press the speaker defeat switch and just connect the 6505's Effects Loop's Send to my audio interface's instrument input, apply a power amp emulation (power amp section of Kazrog's Psycho plugins) and a speaker cab impulse. I know the 6505MH has a cabinet emulated output but I doubt it will sound as good as my 3SA and Celestion impulse responses. Or should I perhaps invest some more money and buy a load box for the 6505MH - perhaps the Koch Dummybox or something similar (any recommendations?)? Then there wouldn't even be the need for a power amp emulation, only a cab impulse would still be necessary. What do you think?
