Haha... I think it seems cool although I have no tuning issues with any of my guitars. Would be a good studio guitar so everything is always in tune.

I am actually interested... DSP instead of something like the Gibson/Tronical Robot Guitar stuff. I don't have tuning issues with any of my guitars either but having perfect intonation at all times and shit is a major plus for studio purposes. The "three AA battery/8 hours battery life" thing is kind of disappointing though.

I don't care if anyone thinks this is lame. I'd be all over this like stink on shit. I'm sick of intonating my guitars after changing tunings and so forth.

well with a full blown stack it's great, you won't hear your out of tune strings, you're gonna hear the full blown perfect pitch coming from the amp.
But at home with a low volume amp you would hear the original pitch of the guitar along with the perfect pitch at the same time while practicing through your combo or stack.
it would be kinda distracting I think

Ofcourse you can still tune the guitar manually. I bet it won't sound disturbing if it's at least close to tune.

The battery life is a big disappointment but it works with a power cable also so I guess it's okay for studio purposes. :)

Can we change pickups on that guitar?

I think it's genius. Imaging cover bands don't have to use different guitars for different tunings. You don't have to fuck around adjusting the neck, changing string strength, etc. You could have you guitar tuned to to e all the time, and tune it down in an instant. the guitar is only 499$ where's the catch. maybe it doesn't sound as good as the real thing?

That looks absolutely awesome! Imagine what you could do with MIDI as well, you could change tunings with every single bloody note if you wanted - you could essentially play a goddamn solo on one fret.

Very useful for cover bands and live use in general, but I fear it comes at the cost of tone for recording. But I won't judge too quickly. ;)

At that price you really can't complain. I wouldn't use this in the studio but live it seems very versatile.

probably has special pickups (like hexaphonic)

Nope - works with normal pickups. Saw another video about the technology (was introduced at last years NAMM by the way, just this and the Parker Fly with it built in are the first two commercially available guitars using it).
