string recs for Bb

Does any string brand offer something like 13-60 set with unwound g ? 13,18,22,32,46,60 would be ideal set for me

Closer I can think of would be the D'Addario standard 7-string set minus the high E... and it has a 59 instead of a 60, too...


Ah, no, nevermind... that one would be 10, 13, 17, 26, 36, 46, 59, sorry...

Wait wait wait, where did you come up with that going up .01" for each half-step down rule?

The luthier that works at my store suggests that to people that downtune, works pretty well for me! Although I've never tuned down farther than C on the high string so I don't know how accurate it is after that. And it also doesn't account for the rest of the set

well i play drop b for a lot of my stuff - on my les paul and on my cort i have daddario exl145's - they hold everything together nicely - not too floppy and still leave some attack for your finger and picking hand so you know your playing. not like pussy 9's in drop tuning where its like shredding on a stick of butter - on my jackson im running 11's in drop c tuning.

works perfect for me and my peavey - its a tight bright sound
