Peavey Windsors are.....

Basically it's a cheap JCM800. It does classic rock up to Iron Maiden kinda tones, if you use a tubesreamer in front of it then it will go as heavy as you like. There's plenty of clips kicking around on the forum, have a dig.

Mine got fucked some days ago, turned it on and some extrange noises, then the fuse broke, replaced the fuse, same noises, one tube got white, tomorrow I'll bring it to the store so they can send it to repair, in guarantee of course...

Let's see how long it takes to get repaired!

I have some trouble with my Windsor head. Hopefully somebody can help me to find the problem.
What happens is, that when I pick hard or do palm mutes it sounds like a hard compressor kicks in. Another guy here also wrote about a similar problem, he described it as a noise gate effect. But his solution (only one speaker cable connected) doesn't change my problem.
Windsor wizards, please help.

Hehe, well, that solution didn't last for long... I got the problem back once more, most of the times it sounds OK. So I don't know if it's a shitty power amp tube or something... I haven't used the Windsor a lot lately, but I will in a couple of weeks... I'll see if I can find something odd and post it in here.

Ah, that was you :)
I wrote an e-mail to Peavey yesterday, but no answer yet.
Would be good to know if it's only because of a bad tube. I really don't want to ship this thing for repair if the solution is easy.
