Peavey Windsors are.....

Hopefully they're around for another month... Quite possibly picking one up in October.

Or maybe this month, but that would mean I have to scratch the Mrs. burfday pres. Mhmmm?

So in the end i paid $199 SHIPPED (they gave me free shipping cause of a small chip on the amp :) ) PLUS the free mic stand!

Hell ya! I used to hate MF.com....lol

Socialnumb, dont know why yours is taking so long.....i ordered mine and they had it at my door in 3 days......really 2, not counting the date i ordered it.

Do these things have to be CRANKED to sound good?

Some of the clips posted are impressive.

My clips are cranked....yes.

But lolzgreg gets killer tone at master of 2......

It is a tube amp, so its not gonna sound amazing at low levels....even 2 is pretty loud. lol

She's a bassist!

Gonna get her an acoustic... BECAUSE IT'S LIGHT BLUE. Womangz... :Smug:

Haha, well that's cool, but my thought process was more along the lines of Homer getting Marge a bowling ball with "Homer" engraved on it  (or Peter getting Lois a Galaga machine, I think you get my drift :D)

Yeah yeah... I knew what you were getting at (instandtly thought about that Simpsons ep)... I'm just saying that it would have been easier to pull this off, if she was a guitarist.

But I heard the Windsor makes an awesome bass amp. Grind galore... hehe ;)

I got mine today. didnt get a free stand though :( oh well...

trading my old digi whammy pedal and 100 bucks for it. booh ya!

So you guys are saying use svetlana for the power section, and jj in the pre?
Could I possibly bias myself?

I appreciate advice :)

+1...

I've borrowed a friend, and after some recording testing, it is definitely NOT a quiet amp. Its 100W, certainly. 2 is where it starts to sound really good, and I'd say around 4-5 is the sweet spot.

After A/b ing this amp with my 5150, I'm glad I have my 5150. The Windsor has this "thin" quality to it--sorta like a very cheap $200 Randall head sounds. For straight chunk (with the TS) it's pretty good. Lead tones just don't give me anything(the thin tone here). It just seems as if it's not giving the full balls in the pre-section. I need to fuck with V1, and put something cool in the power section W/bias. Loud as fuck though, at Master 3-4! It's still worth the $200 though.
