I'm back! I'm back in school finishing that Music Tech degree too. I bought that Windsor from MF Saturday for $199. WORTH EVERY PENNY! I don't know how durable it is, since it is made in China, but every Peavey product that I have used has been fucking excellent. I was fucking shocked the first time I fired it up! I used my OD808 in front, the pre gain is around 7, and it's damn near my 5150 settings with a little less high. Its tone is a tad bit harsh, but I didn't expect it to sound even THIS good. Buy one before they run out!

huh - what t00bes were loaded in your Windsor? what do you have in the 5150 ATM?
 
Mine just arrived and I cannot believe I paid $200 for this. It sounds like an effing Marshall. This added a whole new color to my palette and all I can say is I'm really happy with it. You'll probably want to run an OD pedal with it to clear up the bottom and add some gain, especially if you're running passive pups.

Mine came with Ruby EL34s, meh.
 
Ruby tubes are just shitty, worthless re-branded reject tubes.

I'd go for some Svetlana EL34's. According to my quite accurate sources, they've been running the best.

Same here. I thought (hot rodded) Marshall for sure, especially with the gold front-plate. What mods are being done to this head? The Rubys have to go for sure. I have Tung-sols in power-side of my 5150 with the clarity-mod and bias mod. I like JJs in V1. The fuct up thing is, it's time to change power tubes in that bitch, and the dude that did the bias for me lives 1000 miles away. Anyone know a good amp guy in Kansas City?
