I'm getting hit like there's no tomorrow with that new virus... Norton is catching them on my PC, and my Macs are immune... but it is getting rather annoying...
25 emails infected with it since 1am this morning...

I would never open an executable file that comes as an attachement unless I expect it, but even if you don't open it then this rubbish does still spam your e-mail account. I mean, these viruses are usually 15+ kb big and if you don't check your account for a couple of days then it will be full. :ill:

That is also why I have set up a filter on my account that deletes a good deal of all these fake "Microsoft" updates. It doesn't get them all, but most get nuked. :)

Yeah... I used to work for Earthlink Tech Support (before they "outsourced" my job to India) and that was a common practice to tell our customers. This virus is getting bloody ugly. I would not have noticed it had I not been using my PC to work on The Metal Hall (Which is taking forever, and now even longer than that since it is down... bastid! first time in 5 months)... I usually work out of my iBook (mac)...

If anyone gets an email about a virus "thats already installed in your computer", sits for 15 days before acting, and has a teddybear for an icon, DO NOT DELETE IT! Well, delete the mail, but don't follow its instructions. The program with the teddybear icon is part of your windows operating system. I think its something to do with java. Anyway, I did delete mine, though nothing trajic happened, just got a replacement from a freind.
