Have you ever thought of the different perceptions of reality all around you? For example, say you're driving down the road in summer with your air conditioner on listening to some metal and thinking about what you're going to get at Jack-in-the-Box, and you pass someone who is walking. Have you ever considered that person's perception of reality? Like, they could be getting pretty hot and sweaty, and be on the way to a job interview and worrying about sweat marks because they want the interview to go well, and they need the money because they have a sick kid, and a car goes by them potentially unnoticed. That was you. You cross realities with that person briefly, and for a second, you mean something, however insignificant, to each other.

I'm not stoned.

its nice to see someone else does this somtimes
often in the car i'll pass by someone and just wonder about where they going or what theyre thinking/what theyre life is like/how they are feeling/whats happening to them. sometimes people dont realize that everyone else has a complex life just like their own and that they all intertwine. its an odd experience to think about this stuff because it makes you realize how complicated and jumbled up everything this.

im confused just reading my post lol

it feels almost comforting in a way (to me at least). i realize how im not so alone in this world.

I am. =D

And that wasn't a very good example of a different perception on reality; more like a different situation approached from the same perspective.

But yes, often, and usually when stoned.

I did feel it wasn't written to well. But the point is realizing that entire other realities exist in people. To me, I pass a person in a car. To them, one of many cars passed. My reality dominates my world, and yet to that person, I am just one of many cars that passed.

Funny you mentioned stoned, because I had a throey that maybe only people who have smoked a significant amount of weed think about this type of thing. I did a little survay ay work years ago and the results (maybe like 5-7 people  ) were inconclusive. I used to smoke a LOT of weed.

I think that one of the weirdest things is that there are people who have never thought of this, and even when you explain it, they don't get it. Not to say one is better then the other, but I guess people just process things differently.

Dude, you can see so far up his fucking nostrils... thats brutal.

Not really. Not in a while. I haven't been around people often enough lately. I've thought about people at a distance though. Maybe I saw them on TV/youtube, and I was thinking, "this can't be what they're really feelings, or what they want to say, is it?"

More often than not, I think about all of the violent or stupid people, and whats going through their minds to have them act in such ways...

But I'm usually sober when this happens so maybe I'm just mindfucked.

Actually...yes quite a bit. And I'm with CC...no drugs. I am just naturally pretty curious about how people live life and how things go for people I randomly pass. It's very surreal (ironically) to realize that every person once had a 5th birthday...every single person you see (who isn't over age 5, before someone corrects me) has had one. What was it like? Who was there?

Crazy...indeed.

At times, yes. Mostly I focus on the reality of my life and not by others, but sometimes I do stop and think about how the reality of other people's lives, especially those of my friend.

An even more interesting thought is how animals, specifically dogs and cats perceive reality. We know they can't talk, and they're not as smart as us, but they do have a consciousness. They can feel pain, they communicated by barking, they kiss when they love their owner...it's a huge wonder what it would be like to be a dog, or a cat.

I remember this one time, I was talking to this kid about reality. He asked me if insects could percept reality, as well as smaller animals. I wasn't sure how to answer him. Thinking about it, probably, but in a very small matter.

..and as youre driving by, staring at this poor soul out in the sun, an 8 year old kid jumps in front of your car, trying to get his rouge bouncy ball and WHAM! you splatter his brains across the pavement...

watch the road, not the sweaty dude on the sidewalk

Seeing as how I work in a library, I don't get to do much of anything but watch the people around me and I always wonder why they're getting books on certain topics. I always wonder how little the parent with the child knows their own child and their interests when they show surprise at what the kid is getting a book on, what is making the person check out a book on alcohol abuse - if it is a problem they're dealing with or a relative, if that person who is reading the "PostSecret" book was looking for a card of their own to have appeared in it, so that their own secret is brought to the entire world's attention.

Yeah, i also think about other people, when i am walking on the street, but not all the time. I think about specific people, like my friends that i have met them once or twice, teachers...

I think about this type of thing often.

What really strange to try and grasp is what it would be like to be born, blind, deaf and dumb. It is impossible to imagine that. What do you think? You have no words to form ideas with, no images to remember or any sounds to recall. What the hell goes on in your mind?

Life is probably really simple for you, if blind, deaf, AND dumb... probably not much you can think about anyways. Maybe the most basic needs with a child's mentality. Of course that would depend on the circumstances of your environment also. Like, maybe your father beats you and you have no idea why... so you're always bitter or sad, you just don't understand. Maybe someday you even think about killing people... you haven't thought about much before, but now thats all you can think about. And so you're blind, deaf, and dumb... but you think about killing people.
