Perceptions

I might have said that TWTF is perhaps a bit disjointed, but I don't want anyone to think I don't LOVE the album...certain parts of it give me goosebumps because of the emotion, especially If Forever. There's just something really special about that song...the acoustic and percussion effects have sort of an "old-time western" feel to it (which I really dig!), the melody is simple but elegant, and Paul's vocals are as strong on that song as I've ever heard them. It's the kind of song I repeat over and over again. Eh, I'm just rambling now...:)

Sorry guys, I just love that song so much, and with Larry saying he wasn't so sure about it when he wrote it, IMHO Larry, you crafted a GEM! :kickass:

TWtF was a very hard CD for all of us. Eric was moving on with his girlfriend (now wife!), Larry had some personal shit going on, and my spine disease was in full swing, while my wife was pregnant. So Fade is an extremely personal CD for all of us. It was as mentioned in many ways, transitional. I really like the entire CD, except for one song, and my reasons are more that I felt it could have been amazing, if we had the time to do it right, and work it out more. All in all, it's a great CD, I think.

Torn is the greatest ND song EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously, it's a good song whether you guys hate it or not. :)

Indeed, I love that song. It could use a bit more polish, but it's actually one of my favourites from TWtF, wich probably is my favourite Novembers Doom record. Allthough it looks like I'm kind of alone with that opinion

No, you aren't alone.

Just wondering if there would ever be a time that song would be re-done, "correctly"?

you dickheads need to turn the computer off and get some stuff done. There, that's the first of my biannual comments. amen, over and out

Paul's lyrics to me are touching. Nothing wrong with wearing your heart on your sleeve and for a tough guy  like paul to write like he does is something special.
