Downtuning

I tune to B, basically It goes like this BEADF#B I have a Jackson RR1 neckthrough I actually locked my floating trem(I hate them, but love the locking system) did the intonation and I use standard 7 string strings and just throw away the high E string. any guitar should be able to do this so long as it has been set up properly.
I have no problems with floppy strings or losing tune, actually, I never have to tune really. before we play I double check with the piano and have very minor adjustments to make. as for the origional post, I don't think oinki ment anything bad towards real metal bands that play more than 2 chords in their songs.

Typically the rule of thumb for judging what kind of strings you need to use for different tunings is bascially for every half step that you tune down, you should get one gauge thicker. So let's say you are tuned to E standard, you should have either a 9 or 10 gauge set. So Eb would be 10 or 11 and D would be 11 or 12 and so on. I normally like to use 10 gauge strings when I'm tuned to E standard.
