Holy sound alike band, Batman! PERSUADER play an exact style to BLIND GUARDIAN. Well, in all truthfulness, are exact carbon copies of said band. Apparently, there was a competition with some magazines in Europe, looking for the next big band in metal. They called this, Young Metal Gods. The winners were PERSUADER, and result was Evolution Purgatory. The subsequent album is actually quite good though, despite all the similarities to BLIND GUARDIAN. The songs are well written, and played extremely well. The vocals are so similar to range and vocal qualities to Hansi Kursch, it is almost haunting. The music itself is fast and catchy; definitely a cross between early and most current BLIND GUARDIAN, and IRON SAVIOR, whose said vocalist actually lends his voice for the background vocals, as well as production duties.
All in all, this is actually an enjoyable listen, besides the comparisons that could be so easily made. Just sit back, and enjoy the music these guys are pumping out, and you will be fine. PERSUADER play high quality power-speed metal, mixed with some great song-writing that will get stuck in your damn head for weeks to come.
