Petition for a Collaboration between Slate and Toontrack

Jeff (DSS3) got me thinking:

I think since we are all lovers of Slate's and Toontracks products, for their respective strengths, we should start a petition of sorts and shoot a few e-mails over to Toontrack (and the results/outcome of this post of course) to request Toontrack to collaborate with Steven Slate to create the ultimate in drum replacement/sequencing programs. All in favor, say I, explain why and let's make this shit happen! :kickass:

i've been trying to convince steven to get a deal with toontrack since SSD2.0,
unfortunately steven decited to go with fucking NI:cry:

Oh, I totally agree with you, and if anyone took it as if I was saying S2 sucked, that wasn't my aim. For me and my purposes, I prefer SSD. That's all. Anyone who wants to craft the sounds of each individual drum and control every aspect of the room mic, S2 is a great and probably only choice. I own S2 and I don't plan on getting rid of it. Maybe someday my mixing skills will improve to the point where I'll want to return to it, but for now SSD is fine for me. Does that clear everything up?

I'll even share a quick clip I did with S2 It's in the vein of melodic Opeth... Let me know what you think of the drum sound...

Sounds fucking awesome man. I see no reason to not continue working with S2.0
Sounds like a good drummer sat behind a good kit. SSD always does tend to sound like.. well.. SSD. No offense to Steve, but you can hear that sound a mile away. And yeah it's the insta-pro sounding drums, but this has got way more character dude, and for music such as that I'd say you should definately be using S2.0 over SSD.
I'd like to hear you substitute those drums with SSD ones though actually. Just to hear the difference.

it seems that this idea has good potential, since Toontrack just announced third party sample release with Platinum Samples.

i'm glad that Superior is opening up to third parties... Again, if they want to collaborate, I'd be more then happy to do it... we are back underway with BFD as well..
