Hello,

I don't know on what it depends, but on my computer with my profire 2626, W7, and reaper, when a midi file is alone with no FX on a track, there's no sound, which sounds to be pretty normal.

That's okay, but what I would like to do is to be able to hear it as a midi sound along other tracks, if that's possible.

In guitar pro I clearly see the table "Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth" as the output of my midi outputs.

is it possible to use it in a daw, instead of having to set a vsti on the track fx chain ? It would be handy when you don't care about the sound and just wanna quickly work on it.

Yes you can:

1) Go to Prefereces -> Audio -> MIDI Devices
2) Enable the device you want on the MIDI Outputs window (such as Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth)
3) Go to the routing options of the track you want and select the MIDI device as the MIDI Hardware Output.

But it sounds like shit and it´s not time accurate. My suggestion for quick previews is just putting a vsti like peach: http://tweakbench.com/peach
