Please have a listen to this guitar DI-track...

....it's driving me insane!


Does it sound like it's supposed to? Whatever I do with it : re-amp, insert plugin etc....it's sounds like crap! Boomy, fizzy, harsh, a shit load of 500 Hz...you name it!

Schecter Hellraiser C-1 --> J48 --> RME400 (mic pre in) --> Protools 10

Now I'm even questioning my DI-track....

Am I missing something ?

I'll be honest, it does sound a tad weird to me, but I can't put my finger on why.

Can't judge by listening since I'm on a laptop but
why not try using the line/instr on the rme instead of
going J48-->rme400 ?

You'll have less things to check.
