PLease Help, Fellow Metal Afficionado's

I just recently got a fairly substantial 'Hit' of Metal MP3's from a friend, who asked me to sort and tag his collection in exchange for.... well I'm sure you can guess. Unfortunately because he's already ripped the CD's I can't use CDDB to fix the ID3 tags etc.

Sooo.......

I was wondering if anyone out there new of any good sites (preferably metal), where I could type in the name of an artist and it would come back with the genre of the band ( So I can tag it and chuck it into for example: a 'Death Metal Albums' folder. I've already done half of it myself by either recognising the band's genre or going to www.allmusic.com, but I'm begining to run into bands I don't recognise and aren't listed at allmusic.com. If no one can think of a website I could always post the band names, but it's a fairly extensive list, and it will likely lead to arguments (again)

I'm open to suggestions......

I've got the Track listings and CD names wrapped up (Not finished, but I've got the relevant information anyways. It's just that it's really hard to find a place that list the genres. Places like all music list like 7-8 types of genres for some bands (they seem to categorise on a track by track basis).

Oh and I've always been bad at listing bands by genre - by ear. I tend to mix them up all the time. Or they sound a little like two genres.... I can never decide.

Neither can I, just take a random stab at it, it's your interpretation, a lot of bands make up genres that they say they are in. A lot of bands belong in 1000 different genres, i'd just listen to it for a bit, if it's predominantely death vocals, it's death metal, if it's the slightest bit progressive, it's prog, etc.
