Hi guys! Is there anybody with JSX?
Please make some Impulses from your power amp and your cab...
I love the sound of JSX....:notworthy:notworthy

Cheers,
Dimi

Well you'd be amazed how much better the software sim version of the JSX sounds compared to the actual IMO :Smug:. But you know what? I have ZERO obligations today, so I think I just might make some impulses of mine with my Mesa Stiletto (traditional) cab for the hell of it. Stay tuned!

:notworthy:notworthy:notworthy THANKS MAN!

No problem guys, it's the least I can do for this awesome place! HOWEVER - I'm all set to make some now, but JESUS MOTHER FUCKING CHRIST this test tone is soooo loud! What's the best way to attenuate the volume? I'm running it out of a mono hardware output on my Onyx, so it doesn't have a volume pot associated with it; I figure it's better to capture the power amp at a louder volume, so I guess I'll pull the fader down in Reaper, but all that business about truncated bits and blah blah blah when you reduce the volume of something digitally has me worried - any other suggestions for things I might be forgetting?

The Effect Return Level knob is little or no help, eh? (I'm not trying to be a smart ass -- I've always left it full up and never tried to attenuate an incoming signal.)

I don't think that the truncated bits are gonna be a big issue in this case...
Anyway, the fx-return level is a good idea, but the attenuation, as always, is going to change the frequency response a little bit (depending on the amount of attenuation)...
You can also use your guitar signal as your test tone, recording at a decent volume...
Just play a riff (better with a nice amount of palm mutings and chords) record the mic and the preamp output (would be your test tone) at the same time, then deconvolve... once you get the impulse, apply it to your preamp tone and hear by yourself if it's really near to the mic'd cab...

All done! I'm pretty happy with how they turned out; this was my first time ever making impulses so it took awhile, but honestly, the only thing I'd change next time is dialing the resonance a little higher on the amp; I had it at 6, which isn't exactly castrated, but lower than I normally run it, cuz I'm so used to all the impulses I've ever used being too woofy, so I tried to compensate for that. Anybody have any ideas how I can upload these? (or to where, rather?)

http://www.esnips.com/

Always worked for me (requires registration, but is otherwise hassle-free). Just put them in a zip or rar file and upload them there. Just remember not to upload to your private folder, otherwise only you will see the upload. (I've done that myself, how embarrassing lol)

And a big THANK YOU for doing those. I'm sure they will rock.
