I've been out of touch with every genre since I moved out a couple of years ago. You guys know what I like, but I'm open to anything.

Side note, how is everyone doing? Dead Winter, Stormo, Derek, Derick, Cara, Steve, Kevin, Max, Russell, Karen, Uneasy, Cara, anyone I forgot, how the hell are you guys? Sorry if I forgot anyone. I'm genuinely interested in whats going on in your lives. I miss you guys, including those I have not met.

Still kicking myself for missing my chance to meet Karen in Colorado. I will be moving up there this year, if all goes well.

Here's what I've been digging lately
Some Anglo-Saxon black metal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0Hi6g98JXg
Some Celtic Folk Black Metal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzCuzlbfxik
Pretty sure you already know Wardruna, but just in case
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIHOV07XoDQ
Some Celtic Bathory-worship
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMdZhBBGmQE
DO YOU KNOW PAGAN REIGN?!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9OQUtNbu-8

As for the sidenote: my life has been unusually pleasant as of late. I've descended more deeply into lunatic obsession with my hobbies. Got into historical reenactment and met an interesting group of people through that.

Fuckin' Hammerheart :kickass:

Mother winter leaves our land
And opens wide the seas
The lukewarm breeze does beckon me
As it whispers through the trees

It says: Set your sails
And let me take your ship to foreign shores
Take farewell of those near you
And your land of the North!

The wild cold deep black ocean's waves
Invites my hungry heart
Cry not my love I'll return
Only death can keep us apart

Oden in the sky up high
Let the Ravens of yours fly
To guide us on our sail to foreign shores
Let your Ravens fly

No idea if you like prog/thrash, but the Kenn Nardi (Anacrusis) album is really good. Youtube doesn't even have much of it though, and especially not full versions of some of the better tracks.

That Kenn Nardi album sounds good. Where are they from?

Kenn Nardi was the main songwriter, guitarist and vocalist for Anacrusis (a band I recently found out about). He wrote most of the songs and played most of the insturments on Dancing With The Past. I just ordered Anacrusis' last album, Screams and Whispers too. It's phenomenal.

Honestly, I'm just listening to the same-old. Nothing you guys don't know yet, I s'pose.

I actually saw Anacrusis live two years ago. Don't know what happened, but the set wasn't very impressive, and the vox/guitarist just stomped off the stage after the last track. Something went wrong, but nobody really knows what. The audience wasn't disruptive or apathetic, so it can't have been that. Ah well.

Some years ago, all the anacrusis material was available for download on their website, inclusive screams and whispers, manic impression (remixed and remastered), etc. The rerecording of suffering hour and reason are excellent too ("hindsight" double CD).

I'm surprised Kenn didn't used the name anacrusis. I hope it's not for an obscure right management reason, since he really is the spirit of this band.

Ya but WD the new album is not as strong as the last two, especially 2009's Across the Dark. It's good but something is missing. ATD, however, is phenomenal, so is One for Sorrow. Equilibrium+Down with the Sun is maybe the best intro/first song combination ever. The guitar melodies are immensely powerful.
