Im not sure if I am considered new... but yeah I listen to more than just metal... I listen to some goth and industrial (Big electric cat is wonderful.. bauhaus,) Im a big David Bowie fan.. I like Placebo quite a bit... Jeff Buckley is godlike... Haujobb is neato.. Kevin Cey's solo albums are killer.. I adore Outkast... Rasputina.. Skinny Puppeh... Lisa Germano.. There is more.. but too much to list.

I'd guess I'm new, and I definitely listen to more than metal. In fact, I mostly don't listen to metal. Recently my favorite styles have been electronic, avantgarde, post rock, indie, trip hop, and some rap, but also a few metal bands here and there.

Though I've been posting here off and on for like a year, I think, I guess I'm probably new, too!

I'd be lying if I said my tastes were the most diverse ever... Metal, prog rock, 80s hardcore, non gay rock bands (Primus, Mars Volta, Jerry Cantrell's solo stuff, etc), VERY limited amount of jazz due to ignorance of the genre (Miles Davis' Bitches Brew Sessions, Alex Skolnick Trio , Jaco Pastorius), some Indian music (er, just Ravi Shankar actually), and I've just recently become familiar with classical (Mahler, Haydn, ol' Shosty, Dvorak, Sibelius, Gorecki, Ligeti).

I also want to get a bit of traditional Chinese and Japanese world music, but I have no idea where to start
