please tell me you new guys...

and about new guys listening to other things than metal... well I don't think that you typical mullet-sporting, death-loving metal fan would enjoy Kayo Dot...

I listen to a whole lot of different genres, all kinds of rock (indie, post, garage, prog, too many to mention etc), Free Jazz (Ornette Coleman, Coltrane, Peter Brotzmann etc), all sort of experimental-avant garde (Zorn in all his form and apearances, Frisell, Ribot, Derek Bailey, Ikue Mori etc), Drum-Drill and Bass (Roni Size, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Kid606, Adam F.), Noise/Power Electronics (Brighter Death Now, Massona, Merzbow, Institut, Sutcliff Jugend etc..), ambient (Raison D'Etre, all things Mick Harris, Protagonist, Sanctum etc) and a buttload of metal/hardcore/grind whatever. I like good music period.

i have no problem with (early) Sunny Day.
The problem with Sunny Day is that when their songwriting was stronger (early), their production and musicianship was rather lacking, and once they got better at their instruments and got better production was much less consistent.

Haha yeah at every metal show there's these 300 pound bald guys or Bam Bam Bigelow look alikes. They're usually just there to kick some ass and scream during the songs and in between songs.
I don't see those guys buying the Kayo Dot album.
I mean if they did they'd be like "ARRGHH Wayfarer! I'm bout to WAYFARE your ass with a combat boot!"

early psychedelic music. Love and Quicksilver Messenger Service.

Mott the Hoople.

moe. and Govt. Mule (the new Deeper End CDs are awesome. imagine guests like Bela Fleck, Victor Wooten, Roger Glover, Les Claypool, Mike Gordon, Jason Newsted, Dave Schools, Rob Wasserman, Dirty Dozen Brass Band horns, Fred Wesley, Bernie Worrell, and some others I can't remember)

I know not this friendster other than several references here on the board...I will investigate.

Let us hope for no interference from the cad, Professor Moriarty!
