PLEEAASSEE

Don´t get me wrong with my previous statement, i did not intend to mean that you should not be proud of your family, but what happens with the "I have viking ancestors" statement that happens often here seems that only by saying that seems you are cooler than any one else, or that this is the most important thing in their lives, or that this entitled you to be a harder fan of AA,when I think that no matter who your ancestors were but who are you at the present, you can prudly keep your family name or you can be a direct greatson of Erik the Red and still be a superasshole...

Must be those weird people known as humans, beware them all, they're, well different. I only take offense at people just not being themselves too!

I was kinda hoping that this could turn into a family history thread to boot.

What i don't like is people trying to deny my right to be proud of my ancestry. i'm not saying that for you Ikki since your last post in this thread "excuses you" :p but your first post reminded me of these real assholes who say "when will people stop being proud of their country, their ancestors, their race or team? and start being proud of what they did in their life?" to this i answer "fuck you, you fascist". i'm intitled to be proud of whatever i want to be proud of. sure the statement has some truth, i'm proud of things i've accomplished in my life, but it doesn't make me any less proud of what my father and forefathers did, or of my ethnic background.
Other than that i agree with you, Ikki, that being of one ethnic background opposed to another doesn't make you cooler. But it creates different things to be proud of according to the history associated with that ethnic background (in my humble opinion).

I also agree that the guy who made this thread is ghei.

yeah, you can be proud of whatever you want, and I´m about my family, in fact I´m a lot, because of them I´m partly who I´m now;but it seems that some people use the ancestors-theme like a shield, and I guess that this is like being a lazy ass, as they already did loads then that people do anything and still claims their "rights" for belonging to that family, this is why i say you are mostly what you do and not what other family members did before.

It's funny, because I was thinking earlier "All this thread needs is Celtik to show up." What brings you back around these lonely parts, man?

Hi dude.
Well i was gone to normandy this summer, digging out gallo-roman ruins :goggly: now i'm back and getting bored. I wish school could start fast, vacations are too fucking long (sorry Ryan lol, perhaps i'm not thankfull enough of all that free boring time i have ^^)

its silly when americans listen to pagan metal and think their a part of it. At Least Canadians have plently of frenchies like.

Apologies for sounding such a Hater, merely illustrating my general dislike of americans and how use to be hard cool European bands turn gey once doing more US Tours

Essientially the more non cool a band gets is proportional to the increasing size of band t shirts

Trust that this wont happen to Amon Amarth :kickass:

Yeah, hem, i hate to break your fantasy Morgavid, and i hate to critisize the french (being french myself), but France had a lot to do with the christianisation of Europe (after the roman empire) because of Clovis converting and Charlemagne's empire converting or slaying all the pagans.

@ Bates : yeah, archeologist in training.. and thats partly thanks to Tyra by the way.. it was a difficult moment for me, i was studying math and hated it so much so i sucked.. and i was wondering what to do and thought about archeology, I asked Tyra about archeology and decided to go ahead. And i love it now, its really interesting, i get awsome grades and shit. :)

hahaha thats funny how you personified "hater" but you didnt do it to Americans. I just found that ironic in some way.

but dude come on...not EVERYONE from america who likes pagan metal is saying "ZoMg im lyke skandanavian so i mst c lyke amon amarth b4 i lyke die"

really dude. very fucking few and those are the hypocrites which you should be hating. and hypocrites arent only in america buddy theyre in canada, france AND SCANDANAVIA TOO!

Celtic: Cool that you like it! Let me know when you want to co-author a paper, eh?

Bates: The same course is still on offer. I'm taking it in a few weeks. The course litterature kicks ass. Just for a change, someone actually wrote a book about vikings that is GOOD!

Dont think you got what i meant :goggly:

And yes Ryan VH do agree with you, was only kidding around, however its still undeniable bands become heavily comercalised once america (and more lately Japan) get a grip on them :hypno:
