Pod X3 Pro Announced

Wow. I hope it sounds good because that thing is fucking ugly. It looks like some kinda half-500 form mutant.

Yeah, jesus, what's with those two garish red preamps, it does look like they're trying to get the API module look (except for how out of place they are). And look at that frame surrounding the Pod part, that's all wasted space that they easily could have packaged more efficiently to keep it in a 2 RU package

Line 6 has lost their way. Revalver Mk III will be the new way.

Line 6 was successful because they created a great sounding unit (for the time) that was very usable, as they made physical knobs cool again:

Somewhere they've lost the elegance of that design. All anyone should ever want is something designed like that, only with better sounds.

Well if the price for one is still on planet earth I wouldnt mind having one. I can see some advantages.

IMO line 6 stuff has a tradition of looking cheesy....I mean they made their name (or at least made it huge) w/ a red kidney bean.
I'll reserve judgment until I've heard it.

man that is the ugliest line 6 design ever..

they haven't really done anything new in ages..just repackaged vetta tech over and over.... The Spider Valve is quite horrendous as well...

with peavey owning the tech from Damage Control ( the original line 6 geniuses) and Revalver..they could easily create a whole line of hardware and software products that could bury the competition...

I agree about the first pod...very easy to get usable sounds just by turning a few knobs..the vetta and pod xt sound awful unless you get under the hood deep editing with a pc...

I will add that I am very leery of the vocal component of any line6 product. The bass stuff is logical to me but the vocal thing opens up a can or worms that I doubt they can back up. It is interesting how the "it does everything" approach automatically makes me doubt it does anything particularly well. Maybe this relates to kazrog's complaints as well.

I listened to the sound clips on the site and wasn't really impressed that much by the distorted tones. I liked the clean ones much more.

How many times are they going to take the original pod and put it in a new box. its like soda and potato chips. same nasty taste new box to make you buy it again and again.

i still use my pod 2.0 for scratch tracks.
it takes a little tweaking; but hell its easy to use
