Maybe you've seen some pics or vids about this.
Today at 6:05 in the morning, 200 mossos d'esquadra (Catalan police) went to plaça catalunya, where the demonstrators have been since may 15th.

The campers asked for more people to come and demonstrate peacefully against the police.
At 8 in the morning the police started to attack the people.

Here's a vid of a part of the attack:

The cops weren't even using their ID Plate.

They only made us want to change things even more, there was more people coming every minute this morning, finally, after 9 hours, the police started to leave, and they couldn't take people out of the square.
Today at 19h there's a call to everyone to go there to protest against what happened today.

Why are they attacking people? They are being paid to attack the public? I'm sure if someone retaliated then they would be arrested and charged. I don't see how this is fair at all.

In Italy it happens everytime someone demonstrate against the government.
In 2001 police attacked many times peacefully people instead of black blocks that was devastating the city (some pics demonstrates that they was infiltrated policemen). The night after police break in a school where the pacifists were sleeping and the police mass beated the fuck out of them.... there were no black blocks in that school. Moreover the police took many "fake" bombs into the school to demonstrate there were bombs inside.
The whole thing was discovered and there was a long lawsuit against police men and police headmen but..... no one was guilty of course.

Last week a girl said "Shame on you!" against the Milan's major candidate.... and the police identify the girl!!!! I mean, you can say what you want against a politician....why the fuck police should identify people that apply one of his rights???

Anyway the revolutions happen only if the police and people start to fight togheter against the government... I don't understand how they can always protect those scandalous politician, beating people..

Tomorrow is the Champions League final.
When Barça wins anything, the fans use to go celebrate to a place that's like 200 meters away from plaça catalunya, also plaça catalunya gets really crowded of Barça supporters. Usually this ends up with people burning thrashes and breaking things, so cops have to go there.

So, with the excuse of "cleaning" the square for the celebration tomorrow (don't know why, as they moved all celebration related stuff to another place) they tried to kick everyone out, 'cause if we GTFO today, tomorrow they'll only have to deal with Barça fans. But if we stay, and barça win, there will be barça fans partying near the peaceful protesters camp, and cops don't want to deal with that much people.

They had no reason to do this today, people were peaceful all the time, saying they don't want to move, we're just protesting for our rights, and the cops rights too, as they work for the goverment, and their salaries were reduced some months ago!

The cops also stole lots of computers the demonstrators got there for the communication comission of the camp.

Man I could feel my blood pumping while watching that, but you know...

In the pubic eye: Protesters:+1 vs Government/police: -1

Looks like it'll be a slow change for you guys though which brings the danger of people settling for small changes.

Massive props to the people in those videos that didn't retaliate, that's the way to do it. I would have either let them beat me to fuck or done my best to make sure they had the scars to remember me by.

What the hell?!

I know, I avoid TV bullshit like the plague and I got sick of the BBC bad and irrelevant news Rss feed and this shit kinda jumps on you. But this really moved me, not much I can do though, so I let it be. But I hope for the best for you all over there.

I couldn't help but wanting somebody to yell "You beat your kids like this?" because there's really very little difference between us. It really horrifies me when people can treat others like they are totally nothing at all like them.

I normally try and find a balance in the middle of things in order to find some understanding, but if I worked for the police, I would have a stupid hard time hitting somebody for sitting in the wrong place. I'd probably quit, hell i've quit jobs for far less morally questionable requirements.

Fox News, the only American media source that has anything on Spain..."Friday 84 protesters and 37 police were injured after police met resistance from protesters". Got what they deserved.

I am still pretty bothered by the fact that US media isn't covering any of this, sure has heel haven't seen anything on the news or on the internet.

They harmed themselves just to make it look like people acted violently.

One of the protesters needed surgery today, as he had a drill in the lung and the spleen (I think it's called spleen, at least that's what google translate says ahhaha) due to the police attacks. He's still at the hospital, his life is still in danger.
There was 3 other protesters in danger, but not as much as this 22 year old guy.

Yeah, they went to clean the fucking square, and now a guy is in the hospital and his life is in danger! WTF?!?!?!?! Is chuck norris cleaning barcelona and I didn't knew it??

In the mossos d'esquadra it's your choice to join the anti-riot division, they won't tell you to do this job, you'll only do it if you want to.

What an incredibly stupid way to work things. Your almost totally certain to only get the sadistic fucks come out of the woodwork.

But then who else could you get to beat people just for siting down in the wrong place.

There has been people demonstrating in front of spanish embassys in the states, also in a lot of countries. There has been more than 700 demonstrations all over the world during the last week
Now they're trying to expand this, from the #spanishrevolution, to #europeanrevolution and #worldrevolution!

Another beautiful pic of the great day in barcelona:

What? I wasn't expecting something like this to happen in Spain. That is unbelievable, no one was doing anything wrong, no one was rioting, what low life's piece of horseshit, it sickens me seeing women getting hit out of nowhere, people getting beat up fiercly for nothing... I'm not a violent person, but if I was there witnessing that I would be the first one to get a massive rock thrown onto them
