Polishing Guitar Sound

Downloaded yesterday the GuitarHack impulses and Voxengo Pristine Space but I find it impossible to get that "polished" sound that most of you guys can get like as we can hear here -> http://www.sneapforum.celtiaproducti...ses MASTER.mp3 - by CJWALL
My chain is: ENGL POWERBALL -> soundcard microphone input -> Voxengo

Here's my Voxengo Settings

I added some EQ

turn off the dry mix from the Voxengo Pristine Space use only wet

its already off in that mix.. i used SIR with dry off and sounds exactly the same

I think you are boosting way too much and too high up. I usually don't boost anything over 5k, any higher and you just end up enhancing the fizzyness. If you need to boost that much, then you don't have your tone on your amp set right. You need to get your sound close without any eq, and the use the eq to refine it. you didn't mention if you were using any compression or not, but using sparingly it can tighten up the tone, and give your tone more power.

I agree don't boost so much. Also try dropping out some at 9khz Glen did this on his sample in the clayman thread and it was (at least for me) a really good place to drop off.

That clip has 4 chugs and a sustained chord. We need more than that to really hear how the guitar sounds. Not alot more but yeah.

I would say from the little that is heard on that clip it sounds alright.

it sounds pretty decent, although there's alittle fizz on it.

there are no mids at all. I know scooping out the mids sounds heavier. But that tone would get so buried in a mix.
