Possibly the worst idea in the history of music...

I don't know if you've ever seen a picture of Varg Vikernes before or even if you know anything about him, but he doesn't look, talk or behave like an effeminate homosexual. It's also worth noting that Varg actually looks like a real man, and not a skinny little teenager who hasn't come to terms with his feelings for the boy who sits in front of him in class.

Young Varg was a pretty boy tbh.

I need to see proof of these 14 year olds

Last time I was home for a visit my 15 year old sister sits in front of the PC with her friends listening to Burzum. So I dont need more proof. And who cares, fans of Burzum have failed from the beginning. :puke:

Fail.

There are a number of people in metal I truly would like to fight. Not so much cuz I don't like them, but because I'd like to see the result. Varg is one. But sans the knife.

This film shall be a consequence, not the cause, of Black Metal's injection into popular culture and the reciprocal corruption of the art form.

Venom criticized Varg's actions and said that their goal is to record controversial music and sell it, because they're in it for the image more than any serious beliefs, and Varg criticized Venom for exactly what they admitted to because he takes his music and beliefs seriously. Venom is still obviously a legendary band, as is Burzum, and people who actually care about this feud of sorts are stupid.

Black Metal went 'mainstream' years ago. I don't know which is more stupid: emo fags listening to Cradle of Feces, 'Post-Rock/Shoegaze/Depressive/Suicidal' Emo Black Metal or 14 year old kvlt kiddies pretending BM is a dark, mystical art.

Venom was still very important to the development of a number of the early Black Metal groups, including Bathory(although it was denied), Mayhem(they freely admitted to it), and Hellhammer/Celtic Frost(wasn't Hellhammer's original stated goal even to outdo Venom?). Even Varg himself was likely influenced, if only indirectly.

I respect Venom's statements more than Varg's from what I've heard from each, because Venom are honest and straightforward about it, no bullshit, while Varg just keeps spouting random bullshit. None of this has any bearing on the music, obviously, and from an artistic standpoint I'd say Burzum is clearly more interesting than Venom.

Yeah, Varg claimed he only wore that Venom T-shirt because it said "Black Metal" on it...okayyyyyyy
