I didn't expect to find any decent record stores here in Buffalo, so I checked out the FYE Superstore at the McKinley Mall, and boy was I surprised. I found some albums I couldn't find at my superior local chain store. I also got some excellent deals in the used section (by 2, get third half off).

Belphegor - Pestapokalypse VI
Crionics - Human Error: Ways to Self Destruction
Melechesh - Sphynx
Satyricon - Rebel Extravaganza
Various Artists - A Tribute to Mayhem: Originators of the Northern Darkness

I have to go back there tomorrow because they mixed up the CD's in my copy of Sphynx with a CD from their Emissaries album. While I'm there, I think I'll pick up the new 300 DVD.

Very nice. Any good bands on the tribute?

Oh yes, the main reason I got it.

Track List:

Immortal - "From the Dark Past"
Dark Funeral - "Pagan Fears"
Vader - "Freezing Moon"
Emperor - "Funeral Fog"
Behemoth - "Carnage"
Limbonic Art - "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas"
Keep of Kalessin - "Buried by Time and Dust"
Gorgoroth - "Life Eternal"
Carpathian Forest - "Ghoul"
Seth - "Into the Labyrinth"
Absu - "Deathcrush"

Zeph:

I have a promo of that Crionics album. That is a damn good album and one of the better lesser knowns that I have in my collection.

My haul today (pay day):

Meshuggah - Chaosphere
Weather Report - Heavy Weather (jazz fusion)

Candlemass: king of the grey islands
The Clash: london calling
Alice In Chains: facelift

Nice. I'm glad I found it (for cheap in the used section too).

Armageddon's Evolution is an excellent album so I'm excited to start listening to its predecessor.

Sounds awesome, there's also a tribute to Darkthrone that has Satyricon performing "Kaatharian Life Code" and Emperor doing "Cromlech", that would be a nice album to have.

Nope.

I'd love for some bands to put together an Emperor tribute album.

So far I've only heard Crionics cover "The Loss and Curse of Reverence". Have any other bands covered Emperor songs?

Ceremonial Castings did a cover of "I Am The Black Wizards", it was on their MySpace. Sirius, a black metal band from Portugal, did a cover of "Majesty of The Nightsky", both were very good.
