I never heard stuff from the first 2 Testaments, so it's a blind buy if I do that. I like what I heard from Low, Souls of Black, and Practice What You Preach though.

I like The Gathering but i agree with the ozzman you should get their old stuff plus Low. I want to get Demonic one of these days. I have heard good things about that cd. You mean Abyss records from indy? Dan is a good guy.

Demonic isn't essential. It is Testament's worst album.

I'd just get the first two and The Ritual

Oh yeah, The Gathering isn't garbage like V5 says, but it certainly isn't the most essential record of theirs.
