This is pretty good sounding production. How much of it is Reason generated sound, and how much is live instruments? I've been using Reason myself for a pretty long time now. I use it for drums, bass, and synth in my black metal project Dalla Nebbia, , and for everything except guitar in my more experimental Brinstar project,

All of the drums are done with reason. The drum sounds are from a forum user on this site. Their was a thread started by him back in 08 I think. Anyways I used his drum sounds through the redrum drum machine by setting up about 6 different sets for cymbals, kick and snare, hats, ride, china and toms. All of the guitars are played live including the bass guitar. If I do add siynth or some weird drum sounds I use reason (any of the many synths or toys in reason that sound cool). I have only test drove those drums sounds on the track I'm gone which really stepped up the production for my music!! I can't wait to get some more ideas rolling to use those samples with!! Here is the link of the samples -

@fps - \m/ guitars sound a bit blanketed as well as the rest of the mix and the vocals stick out a bit to me.

@jasonpaul - guitar tone is awesome for the riffs, the snare is pumping stupid hard though, ease off the compression on the snare, if you're looking for volume try an inflator plug-in but be careful as an inflator can also get it pumping if you dont watch it. Otherwise pretty sweet, would like to hear vocals.

Couldn't disagree, it came together very quickly and to get all aspects to glue together I think the compression especially was overdone.

Your mix sounds absolutely fantastic, the drums have huge authority. Is that Superior Drummer or some similar? And would you mind telling me what kind of compression and verb you're using on the drum parts?
Whole thing sounds epic \m/

Sharing some of songs me and a buddy put together. Let me know what you think!

Hey, first time on the forums, and I was looking to promote my band, Dark Entropy, a little bit. We just finished up our first demo, and I would love some feedback on it. It is a four song demo, with a mix of two really thrashy songs, Broken Night and Enlisted in Suicide, and two more mid paced tracks, FEAR and Sins of our Fathers.

You can check us out all over the web, which ever one you prefer

even on myspace if you still use that

Thanks, if you like what you hear like us, or friend us, and if you're in the Chicagoland area come out to a show. Thanks!

Couldn't resist checking out the bandcamp page of a group called ShitCunt. Almost pissed myself laughing. Awesome. Lovely Ave Maria intro there :D

I do stuff with a couple of bands, one's a bit deathy and the other has some djentish stuff going on. I'm shit with genres, sorry.

One of the latest vids from my band Medeia (this one's somewhat slower than many of our other songs):

...And some studio riffage from my other band Less Than Three (very much a work in progress; the guitarist in the video composes most of this):

Hope someone enjoys some of that :)

Ps. Moloch666: am now up to track #30, Cunt Is In The Air. Wait, what

hi, new to this forum.

Im a guitarist who has been in a good few metal bands of various types so not a beginner. But im currently working on a new project by myself and am looking for some decent feedback if you folks can help.

Here are 2 tracks, rough mix. Vocals and backing vocals to go on but music mostly done, some parts of drums needing tweaked etc and some slight changes but 90% finished music wise

firstly. structure. Is is too hashbash or am i getting the right balance. Ie, being interesting but not too random?
secondly. Mix. What do you think? any changes

Getting a very good growling vocalist to come in and lay down vocals and ill do backing. drums are programmed and need some work with the EQ.

thanks much appreciated.

Totally epic.. really like that a lot.

OK.. Just did this song for (yet another) remix contest, I'll never win. :loco:

The whole concept is totally weird and wrong.. but I did it anyway. Calling this any form of Metal is an extreme stretch, let alone Death Metal..

It is what it is.. enjoy (or not.. lol).
