PP USA XI tidbit

Holy Crap!!!! Eight US debuts

Time to do a search thru old posts, and my cds and come up with a list. I really hope beyond all hope, that when it is announced that i see DELAIN, and DGM on that screen.

And I hope you are disappointed! =d

And I really hope your dreams are fulfilled - then so will mine. :Saint:

Finally, some love hear for Machine Men. Been talking them up for awhile with only a little response. 'Bout time you all came out of the closet.

I have some very good guesses on the roster, but this time I'm keeping them to myself to:
a. Not get into a forum bitch session with those who don't like.
b. Not get shot down early. I'd like to dream awhile longer.

Whatever happens, I think this is going to be one of the most exciting festivals yet.

Where is the Progpower XI wishlist thread? Did I miss it? The one where people list their dream lineups followed by others putting you down for how unrealistic it is, or occasionally people are praised for having such awesome dreams.

I searched and found the Predictions thread, and then there is this thread which kinda turned into a wishlist/prediction thread.....but is there a straight-up "Progpower XI Semi Realistic Fantasy Lineup Thread". I always love to read what people really want to see come up on that screen come Progpower Friday (or i guess early Progpower Saturday technically). Was there one recently i can look back upon?

They all degenerate into wish list threads. There should be an entire sub-forum for wish lists, and every wish post should be deleted from this one.
But that would take too much work...and take too much sense...

Heaven forbid anyone make a list of bands they'd actually like to see.

Just for you I'll make my list:

Ayreon - Every single slot the entire fest.

Alehorn review???

I missed ARGUS and SUPERCHRIST

Saw some of Ludicra. Not really my cup of tea.
Kind of artsy slow black metal.

Hammers were ok. I don't see the fuss.
They had good elements in each song, but as a whole, the songs were not great. People say they are better on disc. Shouldn't a band be better live? I was disappointed, given their hype. The hipsters all seemed to love them, so I am sure they will be successful as they tour more.

Bible of the Devil is another band I don't get. Great musicians, but every song is different. Maybe they would seem more genuine to me if they stuck to one genre, instead of trying to fit into every scene.

Slough Feg is the complete opposite of Hammers to me.
I don't think much of them on disc, but they seriously kick ass live.
High energy, never stop! No long inbetween song banter, etc.

Overall, it was a decent but not stellar show.

Sorry, I am brutally honest, which I know people here won't appreciate.

I'd love to see Tarot play at ProgPower. As much as I like Nightwish, I like Tarot just a bit better. Chances of seeing them live are few and far between, but I can always dream! :)

And if Tarot were to appear, then you might as well bring in Delain. That way Marco could pull double duty. He could sing with Delain on the tunes he sings on from the 2 releases they have out. Then he could do the Tarot thing.

As for Ayreon. I think my jaw would hit the floor. I'd wet my pants. Then have a heart attack. But then again, I am an Ayreon fanboy. So I consider this a normal reaction for an Ayreon fanboy.

:heh:

I think Britt and I talked about trying to get in touch with you and Di0b0lik, but for whatever reason, we dropped the ball. We definitely have to grab a drink in September.

You won't see Jason or Bob at PP. I keep trying to get them to go, but the prog & power genres are not their cup of tea overall. If Glenn goes with a folk, doom, and traditional fest they'd probably show up ;)

As for the Chicago foul-up .. my bad. I diidn't have either of their numbers at that time, but definately could have tried to line something up earlier ... just wasn't sure what our schedule was going to look like while in Chicago.
