Pre Party info

Unca Kev and Burke, I think you said you're flying to San Jose Thursday or Friday. I had hoped to help you guys out with a ride from the airport, but I just found out I have to attend a work conference :erk: Thursday and Friday. If the preparty is Friday, I'll be speeding in right after work, otherwise, arriving Saturday.

If anyone IS flying in to San Francisco or Oakland Friday or Saturday (see preparty note above!) and needs a ride to Santa Clara, I may be able to help out. Same with a ride to the gig Saturday...more later...

Ahh Kristin you are the best

Actually Kev and I look to be getting in past 11:00pm thursday night - I am arranging a super shuttle from the oakland airport to the hotel so we are good.

The only thing we might need is a lift to the show sat night if that's cool (and to relive last time :) )

Thanks for lookin out for me and UncaKev - we'll talk as the event gets closer!

Ditto on that! Thanks anyways Kristin, you're AWESOME!

Hey this was the plan to start with bro ............. maybe having this in the East Bay or Concord / Walnut Creek area. But thats an hour from the venue so we are not sure exactly what we can do with everyone coming from so many destinations. And gig Day is not really ideal either sooooooooooooo....

There is always the post party :kickass: unless we find an organizer who might have some better ideas?

Well I think Ed was talking about doing it same as last time - the get-together on Friday night.

We should all be (and I'm sure that we all are :)) very appreciative of how accommodating you are of everyone, Ed! :)

That being said, perhaps we should prioritize convenience and preference of the band members, because you guys are of course the guests of honor...

I propose you guys (the band) pick a place and a date and time that works really well for you, and then we'll do our best and/or whatever it takes to get there. In the event that it presents a hardship for any of us fans, particularly in terms of area transportation, then perhaps we can try to work it out amongst ourselves with ridesharing or other ideas.

Worst case scenario: If the party were to be held in Concord or Walnut Creek, those without cars or rides staying in the Santa Clara area could take VTA bus 180 to the nearest Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station in Fremont, which stops in Concord and Walnut Creek... ...And that's just with about five minutes of Googling. Of course, if public transit is to be involved, it the party can't end too late at night, as the trains and buses stop running around midnight.

Exactly - that's how the last one came together

I don't get out West that often so Kev and I will do what we have to to make a get-together friday night - go with what's easiest for you guys and we'll flow with it:kickass:

I 3rd that! I don't care where we hang as long as it works for the boys in Enchant and the rest of you cool guys and gals are there too! And of course, some good brew too! :kickass: It doesn't even have to be a bar, it could be someone's back yard or basement, and that would be fine. And even if it was some 'hole in the wall' bar in a bad neighborhood/part of town, mah boy Dave is a brown belt in Kenpo! "I don't know ka-ra-te, but I know ca-ray-zay!"

Nothing bro. There is not as much enthusiasm as I thought there might be? We were also worried about people driving up here from the South Bay. I am up for it for sure but will need a little help getting it togather. I need to here from the others as well on this. I am buried in the basslines right now.

It would have to be in the Walnut Creek Concord area for sure, Ted would have to come a long way down two days in a row also and he has little ones so that might be really tough.

I am planning on seeing you and Kev and whomever else for sure and will go ahead as long as it looks like some people will make it.

anything further on this yet?

I just got me and Kev locked in at the Wild Palms for our stay so are good-to-go

:kickass:

Hey... Worst case scenario...

mcdon-b.JPG

In all seriousness... (And who says that's not serious, anyway?) ...Even if it's just you, Ed, that really would be awesome. I think it's great that you want to do this, and even if the rest of the Enchant family does not or for whatever reason cannot, there will be no hard feelings here.

I'm mindful of the sacrifices all of you guys make... Doug touched on the logistical issues last March in the "California gig" thread. In many parts of the country, such distances would involve crossing state lines to make get-togethers happen. Add notorious Bay Area traffic to the cocktail and it's really quite remarkable that you guys are still making music together after all these years.

I also realize that some people, in spite of their being performers, are not really "party people" and/or don't really enjoy meeting and dealing with a lot of unfamiliar people. It doesn't make them bad people in any way -- it's just how some of us are wired. One particular progressive metal band I am thinking of has a bassist who appears to be quite introverted -- so much so that some fans mistake it for something more sinister... Yet his lyrics reflect a very sensitive and caring person behind the shell. I know people like this (and even married one! :)). I'm sure we all do.

I guess my rambling point is... I hope the rest of the band doesn't feel an obligation to socialize with us just because you have been making the effort to set this up. I balance the exciting prospect of being able to meet and hang with one, some, or all members of Enchant (and many fellow fans!) with the grounded reality that it may not happen at all... And if unfortunately that becomes the case, you surely get my heartfelt appreciation for trying to make it happen. :)

No they all love it Keith, we all do it is one of the best parts of this.

We need rested voices for the gig. So if Ted and Doug stay in then they are taking care of the pipes. This is a long one and we are doing some material that is not easy to sing.

We will just do something earlier in the evening if need be. Are you kidding I am not missing the chance to hang with all of you.

Thanks for your heartfelt message I look forward to meeting you.

I am looking for a spot in Walnut Creek near Redhouse where I teach and have to check out a little benifit show thye have going on that night also.

It invloves the Guitars Not Guns group that we are donating some proceeds of both of our upcoming shows it. I will be posting more on that as well.

Redhearsals are sounding great and playing some of this stuff we have ot in some time has been a blast.

This WILL ROCK!

It'd be cool to get Redemption to make an appearance, but they might not be as awesome as Enchant to make it. ;)

But I've booked my flight, I land at about 5:00pm, and I'll be looking for a major brou-ha-ha.

Ohhhh, is that it? Wellllll then... We'll just have to prohibit Doug and Ted from using their voices at the pre-show party! They're only allowed to nod, smile, shake hands, use hand signals, and draw pictures on an easel ala Pictionary. Any attempts on their part to speak out loud will be stopped immediately and the penalty will be a round of drinks on everyone else. :p

We will just do something earlier in the evening if need be. Are you kidding I am not missing the chance to hang with all of you.
Well, I wouldn't miss this for the world, with or without a blueprint! :heh:

Thanks for your heartfelt message I look forward to meeting you.
So do I -- to everyone actually!

I guess I made a few ASSumptions about the "not as much enthusiasm" remark.

Please make sure the gang knows we're grateful, flexible, and understanding. (And really cool too!)

I'd actually really like to see that place! I've been really impressed with what I've read from you and what I've seen on their Web site. Man, I wish there were such a place in my area! :waah:

Hey folks,
I live in San Jose, fairly close to the Avalon (I have seen many gigs there); about 15 minutes driving distance. I have a fairly large house and yard that makes for a good party spot with 2 rockin sound systems, one of which is a full-blown home theater that we could view some Live At Last.

If there's interest to host a party here Friday evening, let me know.

What a very cool and generous offer. Unfortunatly we are a bit far away from the venue and area so the band has to stay local up in our area so we are wrecked the day of the show.

But thanks, now post party? if we all don't destroy the Wild Palms..............man that sounds bad, and yes I am joking
