EDIT:

everything works fine for the most part, except the 2nd input. first input worked fine for the song i tracked today, but i was testing out a signal with my mic in the 2nd input slot, and i get nothing when the mixer knob is all the way turned clockwise. when counter clockwise, i can hear output though. this isnt a problem in the first input, only when in the 2nd slot with the mixer knob all the way clockwise. looking in reaper, it is also showing no signal.

could it just be a faulty interface, even though i JUST bought it and its the first time i've used the 2nd input slot? or what???

oh, i forgot to mention i also tried that. it did the same thing :/

so im getting audio, like i said, the main reason i wanted to get rid of the fast track and upgrade to the audiobox was so i can eliminate all the hiss i was getting from it, because it was destroying my DIs and such. but that has not yet been remedied. i know something is still wrong, but i just cant tell what D:

A bit late to the thread ... but I once had an Audiobox with the same problem.

I sent it in under warranty and they said it was a burnt out preamp chip. It happened after I plugged in an SM57 on that channel while having a condenser in the first channel. I cranked the gain on the 57 and the channel bit the dust.

If I still had it and if that happened again, and I were out of warranty, I'd open it up, identify the chip, buy a new one and solder it in. Otherwise I'd buy a better interface. I had a Focusrite Saffire Pro for a while, that one was pretty good for the price and never crapped out on me.
