Pro Tools 9.0.2 update released

MAN!! i downloaded it last night...came this morning to the studio and installed it, and my 003R wasn't recognized. I struggled for an hour or so (with my clients waiting now for 20 minutes) and nothing. I uninstalled the upgrade, went back to 9.0.1 and it all worked just fine. I don't know what it was. but lesson learned. DO NOT UPGRADE 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR CLIENTS COME IN!! hahah

dude, never do that!!!!
Sometimes it burns under your fingernails but DONT do it.

Sweet. First experience: 2 sets of crashes right after each other whenever instantiating Duende plug-ins. Apparently CPU usage spikes too much. No matter that I'm running dozens of them in Cubase in the meanwhile...

Eugh. They seriously need to sort out optimizing the RTAS engine. I'm having to run even simple mixes on 1024 buffers at the moment and its damn frustrating.

Yeah, PT is a huge no-go for ITB mixing (I'd use it as a playback recorder feeding a desk though). I only use it as a tracking and editing platform. Even when I try to do rough mixes for drum bounces like above it fails in the most spectacular ways.

So not the greatest first impressions of this patch so far.

Hey Ermin, just a quick question about your playback engine settings. How many Processors have you got it set to? I had mine set to 8 for a while and I noticed I was getting a lot of crashes with a minimal amount of plug-ins, but I did some reading and notched it down to 7 and I've had no problems since then. Maybe worth a shot if you've got it set to the full number of cores?

I realise I may be teaching my granny how to suck eggs here, but... it's worth looking at.

Hey Ermz, I had that issue with the Duende wraps as well, but only the Duende wraps so I would be more suspicious of that than the host. I think criticisms of the RTAS engine are fair, but it's a little unfair to criticize based souly on the functionality of wrapped VST's.

Wait... wrapped Duende? Pardon my ignorance but is Duende somehow not RTAS?

Edit: How the hell does SSL not have an RTAS license...

If i'm honest...(and please don't take this the wrong way... coz it sure aint meant that way...) Pro Tools HATES Pc's.
every time I tried (tried being the operative word) in my P.C days to get tools to be reliable, it was a sack of shit.
Nearly went back to Vegas.
