Problem with ENGL e530

Hey guys!

I bought a barely used 1 year old e530 about 3 months ago and I have a problem with it now. While playing, sometimes volume goes down (barely audible) and when you reset the device, it continues to work. It wasn't frequent before but now it's happening twice in an hour or so.

I assume it's something with the tubes. I was thinking to replace them but I couldn't decide what to use. Any experience with e530 and tubes from different brands? It has stock ones atm.

Stock tubes are ugly. Very processed and lifeless sound. Replace them with JJ or svetlana and you will hear a major improvement..

I have replaced the stock ones with JJ ones but to be honest they didn't make the slightest difference soundwise.

Thank you guys. Today I ordered a pair of JJ ecc83s. I hope they will fix the problem and improve the overall sound slightly. I'll let you know the result. I'll try to make "before and after" clips.

I like JJ in the E530....the top end is a bit smoother than with Engl Tubes.

Update: I received my tubes yesterday and after a few hours of playing I can say there's a huge amount of change in the sound. Top end is smoother, there's more clarity and gain is slightly higher. I should have changed them before. For now, I'm very happy with them. Also it seems my volume dropping problem is gone.
