Profire 2626

I've owned my profire for over a year and love it.

My problem is that I have recently recieved a new computer and would love to use it, but it doesn't have a firewire input. Is there any alternative means to hook my profire to the new computer, or am I stuck with my old computer that has a firewire input?

There two solutions of which I can think right now. If you have a desktop you could manually install a firewire card which adds the firewire connection to you pc or you could see if there are any usable firewire to usb converter or adapter around.

It's not a desktop, it's a laptop. What about the firewire to usb? Would that cause latency issues or compatibility issues? Sounds like a good idea though. Wouldn't mind sacrificing a usb.

And what exactly would I be looking for in the adapter?
