I still need to give some time to the prog vinyls I bought a couple weeks ago

I'm stoked to finally hear Red Queen to Gryphon Three and to give proper attention to Aphrodite's Child "666", especially!

So been listening to VdGG - Still Life and Yes - Tales from Tropographic Oceans (not as good as Relayer or Closer to the Edge) quite a bit.

I'd like some new prog rock to check out. I know a fair amount of bands, but what's am I missing?

Besides Yes (to Drama), Genesis (to Wind & Wuthering), Gentle Giant (to Free Hand) etc. :

Happy the man - s/t (very genesis actually, excellent melodic sense)
Picchio dal pozzo - s/t (canterbury-style, hidden gem par excellence)
Cervello - Melos (faily overlooked Italian release, hints of jazz VDGG and Mahavishnu Orchestra, nice vocals as well. Solid stuff)
Maxohpone - s/t (nice slab of Italian prog, nothing extremely original though)
Quella Vecchia Locanda - s/t & Il tiempo della gioia (the first being hard/prog (one track ripping off the beginning of Baby I'm Gonna Leave You by Led Zeppelin, the second much calmer and a little bit better imo)

...to name a few Italian releases :kickass:

Cardiacs. People say it's "pronk" :)

Speaking of German kraut rock, I absolutely love Ash Ra Tempel and most Popol Vuh I've heard so far. The first 5-6 Tangerine Dream albums are the best thing ever done with cosmic-sounding synthetizers.

I would also recommend my favourite album from that bunch, as I didn't see it in your lists, that is A.R. & Machines - Echo. An incredible trip in an ocean of fiery fumes. Klaus Schulze is involved of course :
