Progpower Shopping Spree

I used to have After Forever's Prison of Desire and I found it to be limp as hell. I sold it a long long time ago and havent checked em out since. Maybe they got better but from what I heard it was slow, plodding and boring as shit although Floor has a really great voice.

John Arch era Fates Warning (esp. Awaken the Guardian), early Opeth, Dio & his related bands, After Forever is great, Lefay, Jag Panzer, recent Iced Earth, Twisted Tower Dire, Agalloch, Novembers Doom, Anathema, Time Requiem, Masterplan, Silentium, Insomnium, Shaman (the other Angra members!), Charlotte Church (no! really!), Steel Prophet, and many, many, many others ( I did not mention any progpower bands because its obvious).
Enjoy!

Yeah, I recently ordered the time requiem cd. Just got into Agalloch, might pick-up The Mantle. I keep meaning to check out Masterplan,Havn't heard silentium or Insomnium. Not a huge steel prophet fan, but I guess I can always give them another chance. Hav'nt heard Twisted Tower Die. Love John Arch, especially his ep. And ofcourse Rainbow is my favorite band!

I love the girl singer's range. One Minute she sounds like Amy Lee(Evanescence) and then the next she sounds like old school Tarja! Although I have only heard 3 songs. I Like what I've heard though. Listen to "beyond me", that's a cool song. :headbang:

I plan on buying shirts and cd's at Progpower.I have never been to Progpower, so I want to know how much they usually cost so I can plan how much I the two days might cost me?

The CDs are always cheaper than retail... you wont pay more than $15 for most. And there isn't any tax.

I bought about 20 CDs, 3 shirts, and some other stuff and spent about $300.

To be honest I have no idea about what I wanna buy at PPV. Whatever I see there that I want I'll get. This way I won't have the problem of coming back home and thinking "Damn, forgot about that one" or something...

I'll probably buy a buttload of CDs, as usual. No advance plan -- although I've made it a habit lately to pick up the stuff I KNOW I want via mail-order BEFORE ProgPower, so I'm free to pick up the weird/oddball/surprise stuff there, and not have to carry as much shit around. Kudos to the Fairfield Inn for being randomly timely with their shuttle-van. :)

For you folks hunting t-shirts, "Exploding Ned" (one of the dealers) did pretty well last year with the t-shirts he brought with him, and he plans to return with lots this year, too.
