Progressive Metal

[Mutatis-Mutandis]

Who else is into progressive metal, my favorite genre.

It is an unusual genre that usually combines a certain type of metal (death, black, thrash, etc) with progressive elements, so sometimes it is hard to hammer down what is and isn't prog, especially with metal, where the musicianship and technical aspect of the bands are always high.

Some of my favorite prog metal bands are Pain of Salvation (amazing band), Opeth (my favorite band right now), Tool (on of my all time faves), Dream Theater, Between the Buried and Me, Into Eternity, and some Evergrey and Symphony X.
