Psychotic Waltz

Dude, I love them! I think that all of their albums -except Mosquito- are masterpieces. they're easily in my top 3 favourite bands.
have you heard Dan Rock's solo project? good stuff!

No, I really should though.

Glad to see I'm not the only Waltz fan! My favourite albums are 'Into the Everflow' and 'Bleeding'. 'Mosquito' isn't quite as good as the others, but it still kicks ass.

One of my top 3 bands (often takes the top spot) of all times and all corners of the universe, for sure the band i've listened to the most also Buddy Lackey is my favourite lyrist. Definetely THE most underrated metal band ever, truly progressive and incredibly original. The re-releases from Metal Blade helped them become slightly more...famous, while i hoped that they will even bring forth a reunion...which is not happening as it seems, even though Lackey has stated that he would play shows with P.W. again. "Mosquito" is a masterpiece and a P.W. classic too, just different, while the music is not that complex, its atmosphere is so complicated and liquid that needs much more time to be absorbed. "Into The Everflow" is probably the ABSOLUTE P.W. album but "A Social Grace" is probably their best. My favourite is I.T.E. anyway. All of the projects that their members are involved (Darkstar, End Amen, Teabag...and Dead Soul Tribe of course...heck..even the Aslan demos are amazing) are highly recommended, especially "Marching Into Oblivion" by Darkstar which is a candidate for the best instrumental album of all times.
One by one...down into the everflow...

Well, I heard Into the Everflow recently, and it hasn't sold me on the band. To me it sounded like just another example of convoluted prog for the sake of being convoluted. 345 set me up with Bleeding, which I still haven't tried yet.

I've only heard A Social Grace and bits and piece off other albums. That being said, I think they're an outstanding band.

Deron: I was really impressed with Dead Soul Tribe's A Murder of Crows, but nothing after that has really impressed me. At times they come off as a Tool worship band, but not that much. they're a decent band.

honestly, I don't like DST that much. they're not bad , but not near as great as PW.
End Amen and Teabag I haven't really listened to..

Darkstar is great...apart from those absolutely horrible vocals on the "Heart of darkness" album. But "Flight to nowhere", featuring McAlpin, is awesome stuff! Definitely give it a listen!

Also, the "Dark Millenium" album deserves to be mentioned, which features an astonishing and intense piece of music ("Penetralia") by McAlpin which is described as a "soundtrack", some Darkstar material, some live songs from the P.W. show in Dynamo and the exceptional covers in "Disturbing The Priest" and "Diary Of A Madman". By the way the second part of "The Dream" was supposed to be a post-Bleeding Psychotic Waltz song, called "Medication", there is a bootleg from their Bleeding tour that shows the band playing the song.

I have only 2 Dead Soul Tribe albums, A Murder of Crows and Dead Soul Tribe. They're good, but they don't come close to Psychotic Waltz's brilliance.

Never listened to them.

Start listening to them then! :kickass:

You'll probably like it more. It's got shorter catchier songs.
