I think it's hilarious the way the guy keeps writing "christion."

Combine that with the fact that he used to consistently spell is=t "christin," which makes you wonder what exactly caused this sudden change, it's just that much more hilarious.

I think we should stop tormenting that guy. I'm not a fan of Christian Black Metal (except that one Underoath CD that was labelled Christian Black Metal), and I'm in general in a direct opposition against organized religion, but still, this guy is entitled to his opinion and you guys are to. If you wish to respond do it in a more civilized manor so this doesn't turn into a worse flame-war then it already is.

That Underoath cd (their old stuff) has some of the worst songwriting I've ever heard. :erk:

And because they are atheists, they do not believe in God. And in order to believe in Satan, you must accept the fact that there is God.

Good point.

At the end of the day who really cares; so long as the music is good should anything else really matter?

I agree and disagree. I think metal is more of an anti-mainstream genre. It is the opposite of what the majority of people want to hear in music. Since Christianity is complete mainstream in America, Europe, and South America where 99.9% of metal comes from, the music is by extension anti-christian. Christians with open minds and good taste can listen to it with few qualms, such as Danallica and Zephyrus.
Metal can be anti-Christian, but not all of it is. In general (though there are exceptions), metal is against everything that is established or mainstream, and as you mentioned, Christianity is mainstream in the Western world. I think it's great if Christians are open minded enough to listen to anti-Christian metal.

That being said, I have no problem with Christian metal, or Christians for that matter. I have a friend that is very Christian, and she is one of the best people I've ever met.

I'm sure Christians play black metal to convert people
Some do.
Some play to praise God, in their own style.
That is why all Christian metal, and music, and all Christian art exists
Some is good
Some sucks
But it exists just like any other genre of music
Granted, the original black metal bands would laugh at Christian black metal(or white metal) hysterically
But the Sex Pistols would laugh at Blink 182
Or The Doors would laugh at N Sync
Genres change, often inexplicably. Music evolves. Christians will probably "infect" all genres of music, because anyone can be a Christian regardless of musical taste or past.

My best friend is Christian. He knows I'm a LeVay Satanist (or atleast he gets the general idea ;)) And I know he's Christian. We respect that fact and we even sometimes have polite religious discussions just to understand eachother more.

We don't necessarily have to agree with something, but we don't have to be directly an asshole about it. Christian Black Metal exists. You don't have to like it, but accept that some do like it and that their's nothing wrong with that.

If everybody just accepted that everybody has diffrent beliefs, tastes, etc then things would go alot more smoothly.

There should be more threads abour crhistian black metal bueacause there are not aenough also there should be some thraads about nazi and black metal

Im curious, when and where did all this 'christian' black metal start?

Horde's "Hellig Usvart" ("Holy Unblack"), which appeared in 1994, is generally regarded as the Christian BM breakthrough, though other Xtian BM may have appeared before then.

I was born catholic(non practicing). Is there a big difference between catholic and christianity ?.

Sorry I don't know anything about religion.

Catholicism hates everybody and pray to ordinary people that just so happened to be nice as well as die when they can't find their glasses.
