Punk Rock

Markgugs is not a man to mess with.

BODOMAFTERMIDNINGHT: As far as punk being about guy-girl relatinships, you're only listening to the pop stuff found in the mainstream. Punk is not, and never was, intended to be mainstream. Before you make an opinion, you need to educate yourself.

And if you DO have any intention of educating yourself, check out the newest from either Anti-Flag or Good Riddance. Punkrock the way it was MEANT to be. None of this happy happy joy joy New Found Glory/Blink 182 bullshit.

I used to listen punk before I got into metal. Bad Religion and NOFX were my favorites, but now I can't stand NOFX anymore, too happy music for me. But Bad Religion still kicks ass.

Very eloquent. What was I thinking listening to punkrock all these years?

Thank you leper iffinity, for showing me the error of my ways. What should I listen to instead?

I used to listen punk music any years ago, but now I don`t like so much, except when I have some nostalgia attack...

etc....

Ha! Millions Of Dead Cops! I haven't heard that name in a long time. Cool.

I'm still loving Dag Nasty & Bad Religion, and I've always been a huge Social D fan.

*mark goes and remembers his GBH & Exploited LPs*

I listen to a lot of the crust/punk bands. Although their message is the same socio-political bullshit which gets annoying as hell, the music is great! Bands like Doom, Nausea, Amebix, Dystopia, and Code 13.

Misfits are damn good. My favorite punk band easily, and not singing about guy getting the girl bullshit... more like the guy raping girl then turning into an alien then killing JFK... heh... it's just so politically incorrect and I love it!

Sex Pistols, Bad Religion, NOFX, AFI, Ramones, Crass, The Clash, Fear, GG Allin (heh), and... ahh fuck it, all the old ones that I can't remember. Punk is good.

Fuck, forgot the damned Misfits. Nice call, they DO indeedy rule.

I love punk, so I'm trying to keep myself from boring everyone by listing everything I listen to, but I will say some more of my faves - past & present - are H2O, NOFX, Pennywise, Bosstones, The Clash, The Adolescents, Bad Brains, Doggy Style, Token Entry & TSOL! Yeah!

Sorry, I'll collect myself now.

Shit, I'm going to Warped Tour tomorrow, I have to get some sleep.

Yeah, total old school... They also used to go by:

Multi-Death Corporation
Millions of Dead Children
Millions of Damned Christians

Never cared much for the Misfits...

Sex Pistols were great too.

BTW, Southern Man, you call Punker's music Punk Rock, and most of'em would trample you!

punk and metal will always be linked. if it wasn't for punk meeting metal we would never have had thrash, therefore we would never have had death metal and from that no black metal, it is all linked. i know a lot of you will get the shits with this statement but i would like you to think for a moment and join the dots before you comment!!!

Everything is connected. If it wasn't for a bunch of primates beating on logs with rocks, we wouldn't have music, blah blah blah...

I like the music of bands like the Sex Pistols or Discharge, and a lot of the 70's/80's punk bands. Politically, I don't agree with much of it - being a non-Socialist/Marxist/Communist/Anarchist meat-eater - but if you can ignore what they're saying and just listen to how they say it, it's great.

"That's not real music/And I'm just shouting and screaming..." - Discharge, 'But After The Gig'
