There's nothing to actually prove that men are more sexually-driven, though. It makes more sense that expectations made for men in society conflict with our true being, and push us to do things we wouldn't normally do.
Take the Playboy example you gave, for instance...masturbation and watching pornography have basically been made into a rite of passage for men, whereas for women, it's considered "weird" and frowned upon, when they do such things. When will you have the average female talk to you about pornography, anyway? Naturally there are exceptions, as there are with every idea, but generally I find this to be the case.
I also think Playgirl isn't as successful as Playboy, because the female body has proved to be much more successful in marketing and promotion in any form of media, in general. There's just something about the female body that appeals to any gender in some way, and affects the way you think about a certain product, service, etc...men for example, find a female in an ad sexy, while for women they serve as role models in terms of how they should look to be accepted.
