I always write for two guitars and pan them one part left and one part right. I'm going to use two different guitars but I'm not sure if I should use the same guitar for all tracks on the same part. To clarify guitar part one panned left played four times on the same guitar or guitar part one panned left played twice on two different guitars giving four tracks that way.
My instinct tells me to use the same guitar four times for the same guitar part but a thought I had was the I might get a better tonal range by using two guitars.
