Question about breath in a mix

How to get breath in a mix? I think it's possible to get, when KD and bass compression together or when some light compression load in the master section ... but when I tried to do that, my result was bad... and I don't know what should I do

can you help me?

24thCylinder: haha, you have nice signature What do you mean if you say "breath"? Some "pumping"? If you want to do this EFFECT (usually people don´t want it, except french house try to hard compress master buss, sidechain compress kick+bass etc...
