Hello, new to these boards, but thanks to the search button I already found a wealth of useful information!
My question;
I'm about to buy a 6505 combo. There seems to be some confusion on how to connect an external speaker cabinet to the combo -the manual even lists an impedance switch that doesn't exist!
As far as I can tell, the internal speakers run at 16 Ohm, and the manual advises to only connect 16 Ohm external speakers.
Problem is, I have an 8 Ohm Celestion GT12-75 cabinet from the mid-80's, that I really like sound-wise. Can I unplug the internal speakers, and only connect the 8 Ohm external speakers?
I wouldn't mind experimenting, but also don't want to blow up my amp ; )
Sorry for the long question, your help will be greatly appreciated!
