So I got an EC-1000 in vb for christmas, yay me 
I put a DR 11-54 string set in, and it worked great, the heavier gauge didn't have any noticeable adverse effects on the guitar.....
The .54 broke at the bridge, so I put in the only set I had to hand, a DR 12-60.
And inevitably the strings did not sit correctly in the nut, and now the intonation is kinda fucked, playable but not pleasant at all.
So, what's the heaviest strings you guys have used in yours?
And now that the groove for the strings in the nut has been slightly worn (by the .60's) is that going to affect the sound when I revert back to the lighter gauge?
