Question for Mike about guitar tuning on the new record

Yeah, it's awesome alright, that drop D half step down. It was used to great effect on most of the songs on Linkin Park's first album, as well as all of Disturbed's cds.

GTFO:kickass::kickass::kickass:

I was thinking more of bands like Sikth and Reuben actually. Sorry if you're so shit at the guitar you can only play one style of music in each tuning...

My point was that you posted the tuning like it was some incredible-sounding secret that actually sounds distinctive when it plays exactly the same as drop d and sounds essentially the same unless you have perfect pitch in which case it sounds a half step flat. If it had been some random open tuning I would have ignored it even if it was an open tuning exclusively used by said bands.

Oh, and sikth's early stuff is pretty fucking awful, their drop Ab stuff ftw. -_-

wankerness: what the fuck is that gif in your signature? :lol:

Cool that the songs are in standard tuning. The drop-D song must be an eeviel one!

A studio diary from Opeth would be cool :) Nice way for a band to keep the fans interested and on track on what's happening.

Totally agree, I would check every day if there is an update.
Please do that mike!

Hey guys, let's read a couple random posts in the middle of this thread and try to restart the same goddam argument again! That would be a great idea!
