Question on tube amps

I want to run the line out from my vht pittbull 100CL to my interface to mess around with impulses and other things. Ive heard that this could damage your tubes though if you dont have a cab connected to the speaker out. just wondering what should be the best way to go about this

If you don't want to disturb your neighbours during recording just use a power soak instead of a speaker.
