This is a good idea, but it's important to note that the human ear hears different frequencies at different levels, even if their amplitudes are the same. For example, with a much smaller amplitude, the perceived loudness of a 1kHz tone is the same as the perceived loudness of a 100Hz tone. I didn't word that very well, but you get the idea. Our ears are more sensitive to certain frequencies.

Yes and as you can see that range doesn't vary that much.
